The central objective of the toddler program is to introduce all areas of life to each child stimulating their natural curiosity and functioning as a catalyst towards their early childhood development. ACA has incorporated music, health and fitness in its curriculum. The intellectual, physical, social and emotional progress of each child is critically important and is specifically observed by the trained teachers. The educational activities promote the development of social skills, emotional growth and preparation of future intellectual academic endeavors.
| Practical Life | This will develop care for the environment and provide social development, motor skills and self confidence. Activities will enhance their learning dexterity, which paves the way to their intellectual independence. A few examples of practical life skills include washing hands, toilet training, brushing teeth, manners, dressing, buttoning etc. |
| Language and Reading | These activities are based on the Phonics program. It will increase vocabulary and conversational skills, develop writing, reading skills and introduce the fundamentals of communication and grammar. Skills will develop through communication with the teacher’s instructions, songs, movements and various linguistic activities such as flash cards, memory games, utilizing the computer lab etc. |
| Sensorial | This allows children to apply their senses while learning about the world. The specially designed Montessori materials allow the child to distinguish, categorize and compare different heights, lengths, weights, color shapes and textures. Such activities will stimulate their curiousity and define their problem solving skills. |
| Mathematics and Computers | This is an introduction to basic mathematical operations such as addition and subtraction. Hands on materials such as rods, beads, cubes, etc. will allow the children to visualize the numbers. They will also be using the computer lab to enhance their comprehension and motor skills. |
| Cultural Studies (Geography, History, Science Music, Art and Spanish) | This is designed to inspire a sense of appreciation about the the planet and the development of the world’s many cultures and civilizations. Children will learn countries, flags, and holiday celebrations from all around the world through songs, dance, food, art and pictures. . Science activities include differentiating between living and non-living things and between animals and plants. ACA will also offer Spanish, opening their linguistic horizons. |
